CostumesWithoutDrama is a fabulous resource for both individuals and dance/drama teachers wanting a one-stop shop to get all their costuming needs. Having used this invaluable business for the past 12 years in over 80 productions, I have found easy access to a huge range of quality costumes at a very reasonable price. Owner and costume creator, Tracey Nuthall, takes great pride and pleasure in making sure her customers are very happy and satisfied. She ensures that customers have lots of choice and variety, will alter or create costumes to suit particular needs, is generous in her loan time, goes to great lengths to ensure last minute orders reach their destination in time and is extremely thorough in her easy-to-read, comprehensive paperwork. Her creative flair and enthusiastic, helpful nature puts stressful minds at ease when preparing for a huge concert or event. I would recommend CostumesWithoutDrama to anyone seeking costume advice, hire or purchase – service with a smile guaranteed.

Where would we be without Tracey and Costumes Without Drama? As a school of performing arts, Tracey’s business is a life saver. I have been using Costumes Without Drama for well over 10 years and cannot fault them. Costumes are great! Service is great! Price is great! Tracey is the loveliest person and nothing is too much trouble. She always tries to accommodate.
Must also mention, Tracey has a wonderful method of inventory. All items are bar coded and all items are then listed on my copy of the inventory. Makes it very easy for me to keep track of costumes. Love her system. I would recommend (and do) anyone to Costumes Without Drama.

I have been using Costumes Without Drama for over 4 years. We do a number of concerts/performances throughout the year and Tracey has a good range of costumes and sizes which has been very useful. Tracey has a good understanding of what goes in to organising a performance – whether it’s a concert for 200 students or a solo dance routine which means she is very accommodating. Tracey is a pleasure to work with; her communication skills are outstanding and her organisational skills are exception.

What a year. Lots of exciting things have happened in both the work and home environment. The move into the warehouse has definitely made life a lot easier. We now have new technologies and can custom print onto fabric, and plastic substrates, opening the door to small scale fabric printing, and one off orders for products.. photographs to come!

So Excited, Last night Costumes without Drama was a finalist in the Manningham Business Excellence Awards in the category of Innovation. We were up against some really stiff competition so are extremely proud of our achievement. Our Innovation of course is the wonderful program we have devised to manage the costumes, plus the barcoded costumes… All brilliant!
This year has been very busy, hundreds of new and beautiful costumes… soon to be photographed. We now have a wonderful set of costumes suitable for The Little Mermaid.

It has taken a over two months, but the warehouse has finally succumbed to costumes.. after it’s previous life housing pneumatics! The move went well, but there was a lot more to do than I originally anticipated. One of the biggest changes was to create a laundry out of a toilet! The laundry is compact, but the design makes it very convenient to use.

The big move into the warehouse is fast approaching and there are a few bits of information which may be useful.
The shop will be closed from November 27 and December 5. If you are thinking about hiring costumes during this period please contact us as soon as possible. There is a possibility that you will be able to pick up the costumes early, and return them once we have moved. For costumes due to be returned during this period please ring to confirm return address on that day.

With Great excitement, I am happy to announce that in December, 2013, Costumes without Drama, will be moving to
6/13 Molan Road, Ringwood, 3134
This will give me more space to store and make costumes. I will have a separate sewing room, office and a large warehouse area. At this stage the moving date will be early December. All phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same, except the land line will change in the new year.

With the ASME conference over, I have the opportunity to spend the day sight seeing in our fair capital city, Canberra before heading back to Melbourne tomorrow. Todays first visit will be to Questacon…I love a bit of science!

Welcome to the first page of my new costume blog.
I am currently at the ASME Conference in Canberra. I have spoken to lots of wonderful music teachers. In my ‘normal’ day I do not usually dress up in costume, but at conferences I have wonderful fun wearing costumes to show off the range of costumes in my shop. This morning I was tethered to my stall as I was the front end of the 6 person snake…the rest of the snake was on a mannequin, and coat hangers along the front of the stall. I think I was noticed!
Morning tea I wore a red and gold ‘soldier’ costume with a ‘busby’ style hat, Lunch time was a wicked witch complete with a false nose. I noticed that the fake nose is VERY uncomfortable… I will need to address that next time one of those nasty things goes out.. and recommend the nose is stuck on with ‘hollywood tape’ as the elastic hurts! I think I will wear the 1500s dress for the afternoon tea session.
Oh dear, I have just had a request to wear the Giraffe … hmm OK Giraffe it will be.
